Okonomiyaki

Okonomiyaki, a.k.a. Japanese pizza, is a popular pan fried food that consists of batter and cabbage. Selected toppings and ingredients added can vary greatly (anything from meat and seafood to wasabi and cheese). This variability is reflected in the dish's name; "okonomi" literally means "to one's liking".

Spread good wishes with an apple pie

There are many ways of wishing someone good luck. Between saying it out and scribbling it on paper, which one do you prefer? For someone who loves baking, there's certainly a more creative approach that guarantees a long lasting effect and unforgettable memories... Speaking as a teacher, I can't think of anything better than encasing my love within the pie crust to my favourite student who is leaving for her studies soon. She ain't heavy, she's my lovely daughter... Yin...

Mango Yogurt Muffin & Gingko Barley Beancurd Dessert

It's Sunday morning, time to chill out and relax. Waking up to some hilarious jokes and wonderful breakfast is the greatest blessing in my life.

Two Muffins

There are 2 muffins in an oven.

They're both sitting, just chilling and getting baked.

And one of them yells "God Damn, it's hot in here!"

And the other muffin replies "Holy Crap, a talking muffin!"

Mango Yogurt Muffins

I believe my kitchen to be a muffin paradise, and there certainly are a lot of muffins here.

My muffin stripping itself for me... OMG~~~

Gingko nuts, barley and beancurd (fu chuk) dessert

Not a perfect match made in heaven but both complement each other beautifully

Bacon & Mushroom Quiche and Segafredo Espresso

Dear Clxxxx,
This bacon and mushroom quiche is specially dedicated to you and your family. I am secretly envious of the quiche you got from a friend of yours so I am making myself a smaller version loaded with more ingredients to satisfy the hunger pangs. Haha...

It was a beautiful afternoon to have my 'Purplish' afternoon tea at the airport. Armed with a sweet taro pie in my left hand and a cup of espresso in my right, Pam couldn't be happier with this 'purple' affair...

Seeing is NOT believing!

This is strictly not a commercial. Do not believe what you see in the first few pictures below. Please don't believe everything you see because life is now so prone to fraud. It is a game in which one always cheats and the other gets cheated. Hence, the moral of today's lesson is ... Don't believe it till you SEE it.

Sophie? Is this an imitation or is there a typo?

Is Tarts and Pies promoting some kind of 'products'?

Thin, soft, gentle and very comfortable to ......

Continental Breakfast @ Starbucks

The Europeans enjoy their Continental Breakfast which is relatively light and just nice to last them till lunch. Basically, this type of breakfast consists of a cup of coffee and a piece of roll or pastry. During my days of travelling in Europe, I was very fond of Continental Breakfast and wouldn't mind walking for miles looking for award-winning patisserie just to savour the best pastries in Europe.

Happy Full Moon!

A very happy full moon to Julian as he turned a month old last week. Instead of the normal full moon set with hard boiled eggs, turmeric rice, chicken curry and ang koo kuih, his mother distributed cupcakes with colourful toppings made of marzipan.
