A Brand New Journey of Cakes at La Promise

La Promise Bakery & Cafe - a newly opened bakery cum cafe in town. The cafe serves all types of cakes, breads and pastries. Authentic western cuisine is also served here. The menu may not be very extensive but that is exactly what a good restaurant should offer - more quality is emphasised despite its limited choice. The cafe is owned by a couple who share the same passion for good food. Almost all the items on the menu including the wide range of cakes are made by the owner of the shop as serving the best to his customers is his top priority.

Affogatto coffee and fruit tart


Their signature item, the fruit tart which is freshly baked every day. The cut fruits used are fresh and the glazing is made to the right consistency.



The fruits are encased in a custard-filled crisp short crust pastry. The freshness of the tart is revealed when bitten into as fresh juice would ooz out from the cut fruits and every bite is a great satisfaction.

The scoop of vanilla ice-cream is melted in a lovely way when the aromatic espresso is poured on it. Take a sip of it to indulge yourself into the heaven of coffee.

    In Taiping? No kidding? Wow! This is a real kick start for a sleepy hollow. Looks like Taiping folks are upgrading now. Anyway, the cakes are so delicious looking. A good find.

    The fruit tarts are very tempting. They look juicy and fresh. By the way, how to go to Jalan Panggung Wayang? I just can't wait to eat there.

    Dear all, this shop is in Taiping. At last, the sleepy hollow has changed into a modernised town with cafes mushrooming in every corner. I will try to get a map to show where the location of the shop is.

    Thank you for leaving your comments. I've advised the owner to introduce more variety of pastry in order to attract customers. Fruit tart is RM1.50/pc while all the cakes are priced at RM4.50/pc.

    Yes! We did plan to change our uniforms. What is your recommendation? Pricing?? I think they are all affordable. Food price is from 6.90 to 10.90. We have more than 80 types of beverages!! From healthy smoothie (for those who wanted to on diet, you can get a healthy smoothie take-away as your lunch), fresh juices (NO WATER ADDED), hot coffee and tea to milk shakes (According to US Standard, the straw should stand still on a milk shake, come and try and you will prove it!!).
    Thanks to Ms. Seow for introducing our shop and food to the public. I hope this is a great news to all Taiping residents!!!
