Day Trip in KK

Have you ever flown yourself to Sabah simply for the sake of eating? I just did that. I bought an air ticket from Air Asia and took the earliest flight from LCCT to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival, I flagged down a cab to take me to the city centre. It's morning... What comes into your mind after spending about 3 hours at 2,000 ft above sea level? EAT! My first stop was Kedai Kopi Kinabalu. I ordered the usual staple of Sabahan - Kolok Mee, for breakfast.

Plain Kolok Mee (RM4.50)
Kolok Mee Special / Char Siew and Roast Pork Kolok Mee (RM5.00)

We then proceeded to Borneo 1945 Museum Kopitiam, also known as Borneo Bagpackers. Their signature coffee is Borneo White Coffee. It is a must-try item as the coffee is freshly ground and brewed upon order. The toast bread toasted on charcoal fire is also a never-to-be-missed.

White Coffee (RM6.00)

Toast Bread (RM3.00)

As for lunch, we went to one of the most well established seafood restaurant, Twinsky Seafood Restaurant to savour the freshest ever seafood that we ever had. The seafood of KK is definitely fresher than the air-flown seafood we normally get in the Peninsula.

Stir fried "Shu Chai Choi"

"Paku" Vege cooked in Belacan & Chilli gravy

Steamed Grouper 'Chat Sing Pan' (RM 80/kg)

Buttered Prawns (RM60/660g)
Stir fried Sepah (a type of clam) RM 20

Steamed Prawns (RM45/kg)

Balck Pepper Venison (RM40)
