Japan - Day 11: Kyoto Imperial Palace, Nijo Castle & Kyoto Tower

30th November. It was the last day of the month and our final trip to Kyoto. The last destinations in the list were the Kyoto Imperial Palace, Nijo Castle and Kyoto Tower. As usual, we started our journey pretty early because we had to arrive at the Kyoto Imperial Palace before 10 a.m. to make reservations for our visit. Throughout the whole day, we had been walking non-stop. First, we walked from the Karasuma Oeke station to the palace. After we had finished our tour, we proceeded to the Nijo Castle on foot. Then, we stopped by a ramen stall to get ourselves filled up before taking the Keihan train to the Kyoto Station.

  1. The pictures look so quiet.. not many tourists around? In a way, it is better.. you can take your own sweet time walking and taking pictures without waiting for someone to pass :)

Another advantage of travelling on your own. There was once I spent almost half an hour just to take the best shot of a building.

  5. Nijo Castle is one of Japan’s most amazing castles. It was constructed in sixteen three originally, and was intended as the official residence in Tokyo for the first Tokugawa Shogun.
