Home Cooked Nasi Ulam

Nasi Ulam, a type of rice prepared traditionally with a whole variety of local greens which comprise variety of raw vegetables namely ulam raja with sambal udang, winged bean with sambal belacan, pennywort, pea aubergine etc. Nasi Ulam is a signature dish of Peranakans as well as the Malays. It is widely known as "Queen" of all Peranakan rice. If you are in your forties or fifties, you had probably eaten this rice during your childhood years and thus know how to appreciate it better than the younger generations.

  1. nasi ulam.. hmmm.. never tasted it before during my childhood days cos i was born in town.. i heard of my colleagues going to perak stadium stalls to eat nasi ulam but i havent tried it before...
