Lard fritters craving @ Kim Lian Kee

Kim Lian Kee is a frequent stop for Hokkien noodles fans. Their thick stir-fried broad noodles draw the crowd from all over Kuala Lumpur. Doused in dark soy sauce, the Tai Look Meen is served with generous helpings of squid, shrimps, pork and some artery-clogging lard fritters, which is a must-have ingredient to win the heart of their customers. Without this extremely unhealthy topping, the noodle will lose its appeal and name, perhaps. Just imagine who would want to eat a plate of Hokkien noodles without its gist...

This is not first time I ate Hokkien noodles at Kim Lian Kee but I have never gone over to the newer shop across the street as I strongly believe that only the original stall which is still using charcoal fire can bring out the most original flavour of Hokkien noodles with an infused smoky flavour.
