Wong Kok Char Chan Teng: Revisit

Talked about Hong Kong style food, Wong Kok Char Chan Teng is not the most outstanding cafe. With limited choice of restaurants in Ipoh, Wong Kok is the only place that serves typical Hongkee style food. We went to De Garden for lunch and found customers overflow in queues . In spite of being packed to the brim, we somehow managed to get a table for three in less than five minutes.

Shrimp paste toast @ RM5.90

Yang Zhou style fried rice @ RM9.20

Baked rice with pork chop and shrimp paste @ RM13.80

Boiled almond dessert with raw egg @ RM4.50

Mango and honey dew dessert @ RM8.50

Red bean and sago drink @ RM5.80

Dad didn't like the taste of the paste at first bite but it's ok for me. If you like something with a strong smell and after taste, the shrimp paste may be a good snack to kick start your meal.
