Welcome to MOO COW

When yogurt is chilled and whipped till creamy, it is called frozen yogurt. The concept of frozen yogurt has gained its popularity over the years and thanks to its pioneer - tutti frutti, who brought in the idea of this chilled dessert to Malaysia and everyone here is now able to enjoy their yogurt with their favourite toppings. Isn't is fun to be able to choose the sides to go with your yogurt? I certainly love this idea!

Lorong Seratus Tahun Curry Noodle

Lorong Seratus Tahun curry noodle is a very well known noodle stall in Penang. Ask any Penangites about this noodle stall, you will be given a detailed description of how good the noodle is. Many claim that Penang serves the most delicious and authentic curry noodle dish in the country.  The name of this famous curry noodle stall is thus named after the street where the stall is located - Lorong Seratus Tahun.

The curry noodle below is not the original version in Penang but their branch in PJ. Of course, it's always the original stall which serves better food than the branch. I wonder why...

Ho Chiak???

I am a Taiping lang who grew up with typical Taiping food which receives its influence mainly from the Hokkien ethnic. I therefore was very curious to find out how authentic the food served at Taiping Ho Chiak is.

Hae Kean (Prawn fritters)

Sambal Kangkung (Stir-fried water spinach with shrimp paste)

Do you have a sweet tooth?

Not a real fan of local kuih but always get attracted by the fanciful shapes and dainty sizes of the kuih. Between the Penang version and Malacca's, which type of kuih do you prefer?

Pumpkin kuih with mung bean filling

Glutinous rice ball with crushed peanuts filling

Ang Koo with mung bean filling

Brown sugar thousand-layered kuih
Yam flavoured kuih talam
Red ang koo with crushed peanut filling

clockwise from top left:
Nine-layered kuih, kuih bingka, tapioca kuih and kuih talam.

From the beans to your cup...

Kenny joined me for coffee and a chat yesterday. Pam sipping the dark brew while Ken slurping his chilled concoction, and that's how we both enjoyed a leisure afternoon at CBTL.

Americano (double shot) @ RM8.40 and Ice-blended Mocha @ RM12.00

Black and bold, specially for Pam...

Sweet and cold, who else if not Kenny...

A small gift from the birthday girl...

I got up pretty early on my birthday to bake some egg tarts as a gift for my fellow colleagues. Birthday girl delivering present instead of receiving one? Well, as long as I am happy with what I enjoy doing the most...

While they were rising in the oven...

The first two trays coming out fresh from the oven. It's very tempting to the sight, isn't it?

2 dozens of homemade egg tarts to be distributed in the office.

Homemade Hong Kong style chicken pie (港式鸡批)

Pam's latest creation of the month --- Homemade Hong Kong style Chicken Pie!

Hong Kong style chicken pie (港式鸡批)

A huge and crispy pie, filled generously with barbecued chicken meat and onions.

If t were to set up a stall and sell this chicken pie, how much do you think it worth?

Wash down the pie with a cup of black and bold UCC coffee

Last but not least, a slice of Almond biscotti (RT bakery) to round off the meal...

Leaving for Hong Kong again... and again... and again...

Hey guys, Pam is leaving for Hong Kong (again???) tonight. Please don't ask me why I am always flying to Hong Kong. My family and I are very fond of the food and culture in Hong Kong so we are making our annual pilgrimage to the same destination over and over again. *actually, this is the second trip for year 2011...

See ya in Hong Kong!

More pictures will be posted upon my return from Hong Kong...

Indulgence Restaurant & Living

Appetiser:
Soft bread served with butter
The complimentary fresh bread with a crispy crust was very warm and soft in the inside.

Appetiser:
Kumamoto Oyster from US @ RM23.80 for 2 pieces
The plump oyster which was very juicy and succulent, possessed a creamy texture and a natural sweetest of shellfish. The addition of tabasco sauce and lemon juice further enhanced the flavour of the oyster, giving a very long-lasting aftertaste which lingers around your mouth.

I must admit that this is the best oyster I've ever had...

Main Course:
Fat Momma @ RM32.00
This poultry dish is served with 2 skewers of mango and sweet potato

Extra small-sized chicken marinated with concentrated tomato puree and baked in the oven.

Dessert:
Creme Brulee @ RM12.00
Sugar was sprinkled onto the custard and caramelised with a butane torch

Smooth and creamy custard topped with a contrasting layer of hard caramel

Drinks:
Double Espresso @ RM12.00
The espresso was made using one of the world's finest ground coffee - Bristot.
Too bad it was served wrongly in a coffee cup instead of the standard espresso cup. This had somehow affected the layer of crema formed thus causing a greater deviation in the taste of coffee.
With a service charge and government tax of 5% and 6% respectively, the total bill came up to RM88.60. Worth spending an astronomical price on all the above? My answer is definitely YES!
