Ho Chiak???

I am a Taiping lang who grew up with typical Taiping food which receives its influence mainly from the Hokkien ethnic. I therefore was very curious to find out how authentic the food served at Taiping Ho Chiak is.

Lap Cheong Nui (Chinese Sausage Omelette)

Hae Kean (Prawn fritters)

Sambal Kangkung (Stir-fried water spinach with shrimp paste)

Kiam Chye T'ng (Pickled Vegetable Soup)

Durian Chendol

    Gimmick, indeed. Worst decision of my foodie life was to go to this place on 6th day of CNY for Yee Sang. Although they advertised their YeeSang very aggressively all over their restaurant, they simply did not prepare any!!!
    They just had one portion for a large group which they were hoarding up like gold. They refused to serve us even though we had called a day earlier to make a booking. They apologised but their stupid explanation only made things worse.
    False advertising? Unprofessional management? Bottom line is that if you want Yee Sang in a Nonya Restaurant - choose any of the other 30 or 40 places in Petaling Jaya. Stay away from this "gimmick" place.
