Satay Celup at Capitol, Malacca

Capitol is believed to have pioneered the satay celup concept in Malacca. It is the best of all due to the thick, aromatic soup base (or sauce?). The success of their business lies in the secret recipe of the sauce which was perfected by the owner, the third generation food operator.

Weekends often see patrons flocking in from 5.00 p.m. onwards.

There are plentiful of skewered seafood, vegetables, meats and innards.

Prices start from 80 sen a stick

Chicken Rice Balls at Chung Wah Restaurant, Malacca

Been to this place for numerous times but never thought of writing anything about this prominent eatery which draws people of all ages and lifestyles with its unique presentation of the most down-to-earth food. This is also a perfect place to instill moral values among Malaysians as the importance of general courtesy in Western culture is reflected in rules relating to the first-come-first-serve system. Irrespective of who you are, you must abide by the queue etiquette if you want to eat their food.

Plates of rice balls stacking on the tables, waiting to be delivered upon order.

Single serving of five rice balls
(I can only eat 3 rice balls at one go but my brother can easily tuck in 3 plates!!!) *Salute*

A rather large portion for 3 persons

The main crowd puller is actually their zingy chilli dip

Mille Crepe at Nadeje Patisserie, Malacca

Nadeje Patisserie is a cafe in Malacca which specialises in making Mille Crepe. A French dessert,  mille crepe is literally translated as thousand-layered cake. Mille crepe is made of many alternating layers of crepe and cream. It is the cream sandwiched between the layers that does wonders to the dessert. This mouth-watering dessert, if done to perfection, simply melts in your mouth and the eggy taste of the crepe incorporates with the flavoured cream to form a rather complex yet heavenly taste. It will definitely make you keep asking for more.

The cafe is usually very crowded during the weekends. I had no choice but to take away the cake and shared it with Pietro (my car).

Chung Hwa Chicken Rice Balls

I am a DONKEY! This was what I kept telling myself today. I am a donkey simply because I'd been doing lots of donkey job today. A letter came from the department and I was asked to attend a half-day course in Malacca. You must be wondering why I consider this as a donkey job since I can sneak out from the office to go CUTI-CUTI MALAYSIA again. I wasn't really that pissed off the moment the letter arrived on my table (not addressed to me) until I read the following lines:

Tuan/Puan tidak layak menuntut elaun pengangkutan, elaun makanan dan elaun harian.

In other words,I have to work for FREE!!!!!! Where got FAIR?!

Luckily the course ended before 12.30 so I had ample time to drive myself to Jonker Street for lunch. Well, what else is on the list if it is not Chicken Rice Ball?

Drove past this iconic landmark, simply took a picture of it.

Chicken!

Rice Balls!
