My 7-hour journey to Osaka

Japan - Day 1: Joruriji Temple and Gansenji Temple, Kyoto

My journey to Japan began with a seven-hour flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Kansai International Airport. The plane departed 15 minutes before 12 midnight and arrived in Kansai at 7.30 a.m. the following day.
Refreshments were served shortly after we boarded the plane.

Breakfast was served 2 hours before landing.
I always prefer Spanish Omelette to Nasi Lemak for breakfast.

My 12-hour journey back to Malaysia

My journey back to Malaysia was definitely a pleasant one as Mum and I were lucky enough to be given a window seat and an aisle seat, with extra leg room. What are the perks of a window seat? I get to enjoy the view below, clouds, sunsets and is more insulated from people passing by in the aisle. As for the aisle seat, it enables me to get out of my seat easier to head to the bathroom whenever I like. I came up with an idea of switching position after some time but Mum replied with a stern look :"You have nothing else better to do ah?"
=.=

This is my last post on Italy. I had a hard time selecting the best shots out of the 1,825 pictures which I had taken in Italy. I hope this will not disappoint those who have been longing to visit Italy for I have given my very best in making the pictures look even presentable.

My 12-hour journey to Rome

I enjoy travelling by plane, especially the long haul flight which requires more than 10 hours of sitting still. The in-flight meals may be awful but it's actually the dining 'ambiance' that counts. Enjoying my food at an altitude of more than 30000 ft above sea level, the 'very polite' stewardess who never fails in asking: "Yes? What do you want? Nasi Lemak or Spanish Omelette? Coffee or Tea?" (A special 'courtesy' towards Malaysian passengers). How much I wish I were the orang putih...
"Good morning, sir. We have ...... and ...... for breakfast. Which one do you prefer? ...... Thank you, sir....." (paying the same amount of air fare yet being treated like kings and queens). Sigh ~~~ MH = Malaysian Hospitality???

Hong Kong & Macau - Day 7 (Part 2: HKIA Departure Hall)

It's time to say goodbye to HK.
Thank you for the good times,
The days you filled with pleasure.
Thank you for fond memories,
And for feelings I'll always treasure.
Those wonderful moments
will glow in my memory,
reviving pleasant feelings
every time I think about it.
I appreciate you,
and I thank you.
I’ll always think of you
With a glad and grateful heart;
You are very special;
I knew it from the start!
Thank you, Hong Kong!

Don't complain, just tuck in...

Wait till we meet again, Hong Kong.

Hong Kong & Macau

Went to Hong Kong for a 7-day trip. It's my first time travelling to Hong Kong by Cathay Pacific. Well, the service is not as good as MAS and the food is lousy as well. They used to serve Haagen Dazs ice-cream on board but no longer serving it now. You will have to request for every single item you want including coffee. I will certainly not consider Cathay Pacific again.

This is Chicken Rice set. The bun is as hard as rock and there is no dessert at all except for a few miserable looking cut fruits. The green cup generally serves no purpose. Compared to MAS which serves yogurt, jelly and cheesecakes, this is totally not up-to-standard.

Fish Rice Set.
Look at the overcooked vege, it's so disgusting.

Arrived in HK after flying for 3 and a quarter hours.

Was a bit shocked to see huge Chinese characters in every signboard. One will need to go closer to look at the English version at the bottom of the Chinese characters. Although it is a top ranking airport, they hardly practise international standard. Priority is given to Chinese languages in almost everything ranging from announcements to signboards. English has become their third language as Mandarin is seen to be more influential after Cantonese.

Tsing Mah Bridge connecting Lantau Island and Kowloon Island. If you take the Airport Express to Hong Kong, it will take you approximately half-an-hour to reach HK. Travelling by bus or taxi is about 45 minutes.

Mum and I spent 3 nights in Metro Park Hotel, Mongkok. The hotel is located at Lai Chi Kok Road, just a few walking steps from the Prince MTR station. The hotel is rather expensive. A small twin room costs us HKD 1,280 per night.

Due to time constraint, I am giving only a brief description on my first day in HK.
Will write more in the next post.
