I had not had too many rounds of lou sang in the recent Chinese New Year. Had the first one on the third day and the second one on the eighth day. I am never a fan of lou sang because of the non-nutritious ingredients used and the mess created on the platter resulting from the vigorous stir. No one in the family appreciates lou sang thus discarding most of the leftover is always a common practice in the family.
This afternoon, as I was walking around the mall trying to settle down for a cup of coffee, I spotted Sushi King's New Year promotional items when I chanced along the restaurant. It's the hotate (scallop) season in Japan so they offer a variety of food made from hotate. The hottest item of the month is the mini lou sang @ RM8.88 (more prosperity coming your way???)
Mini Lou Sang @ RM8.88
Deep-fried tempura batter, hotate, raw salmon slices, crabstick, shredded carrot,
shredded cucumber, half a lime and another unknown ingredient.
Chuka Ika Sansai @ RM5.00
Seasoned cuttlefish with edible wild vegetables
