I love Cantonese cuisine, and one of my favourites is Chinese roast and dim sum. In Kuala Lumpur, you have several options to try these roast meats but there is a phenomenon on KL that always puts a disdainful grin on my face. Well, there are a few restaurants in KL that serve good Chinese roast. To minimise disappointment, I always prefer a place which I am comfortable with. In Canton-i, the menu of Chinese roast is extensive, but has rather basic, uninformative translations like "Roast Duck". I would expect more sophisticated translations and descriptions but this is not quite likely as Malaysians are attracted by colourful pictures of food that usually look more appetising than the actual food.

Next up. the prawn dumplings with plump ans crunchy prawns were delicious. I love the combination of silky smooth skin and crunchy fresh prawns, and this dish was no exception.

Steamed glutinous rice in lotus leaf 珍珠雞
One of the best dishes was the steamed glutinous rice in lotus leaf. I was struck by how tender the meat was, and considering it had only been steamed in sticky rice. Even the rice deserves a thumbs-up.
