Singapore Discovery Vacation 2011: Universal Studio Singapore

Our last day in Singapore was filled with fun and excitement. Upon our arrival at the Universal Studio in Sentosa Island, we were thrilled by the unprecedented sensation and the dazzling parade of various cartoon characters which transform USS into a dreamworld.

We witnessed a tidal wave of death-defying stunts, along with thrills and spills from real explosions of fire and water at this sensational live water show, created based on the blockbuster film, "Waterworld".

Singapore Discovery Vacation 2011: Wendy's Breakfast Panini

Similar to other fast food chains, Wendy's arrival in South East Asia brings more choices of food to us. Instead of using buns and English Muffins in their breakfast set, Wendy's opt for Italian focaccia which has a more chewy texture. With Wendy's, breakfast has become more interesting and we are no longer limited to choices of only hotcakes and English muffins.

Singapore Discovery Vacation 2011: Singapore Flyer and Merlion

Standing proudly at a height of 165 metres, Singapore Flyer is the world’s largest Giant Observation Wheel. Going on the flyer affords a panoramic view of the awesome Marina Bay skyline which is  truly an experience to remember.

Singapore Discovery Vacation 2011: Eminent Frog Porridge and Seafood @ Geylang

Singapore is popular for frog legs porridge especially around the Geylang area. Along Lorong 19 of Geylang, there are several restaurants and stalls selling frog porridge. Of all the frog porridge and seafood stalls, Eminent is our top priority because of its reputation and popularity among bloggers. The overall taste of the food is above satisfactory and is worth trying though many seafood restaurants in Malaysia offer equally nice treats at a much lower price.

Singapore Discovery Vacation 2011: Buddha Tooth Relic Temple @ Chinatown

The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, a Buddhist temple and museum complex, is located in the heart of Singapore Chinatown. Specially built to house the tooth relic of the historical Buddha, the temple is designed according to the Tang dynasty architectural. The temple has become one major tourist attraction in Singapore since its opening in 2007.

Singapore Discovery Vacation 2011: Kublai Khan Mongolian Barbecue @ Park Mall

This barbecue buffet restaurant is recommended by a colleague of mine who simply loves the grilled meat they serve. The name of the restaurant suggests that food is prepared in Mongolian style. As we all know, the Mongolians are very proud of their grilled lamb cuisine comprises of a wide array of dishes made of lamb. To name a few, lamb skewer, grilled whole lamb, lamb stew, grilled lamb rack etc. There was a high anticipation before we went to the restaurant but the saying is right: The more you anticipate, the more disappointment you get. There isn't any lamb dish served here. Only beef and chicken are available, plus a lousy selection of the buffet line. SGD26++ per person is actually quite reasonable when you forget about the conversion rate... :)
