Flying to Osaka tonight!

Hey, everybody! Ming Na is leaving for Osaka tonight. Will spend about two weeks in Japan. When I am back, I will share with you the charming sceneries of Japan, together with the food which I will probably be eating non-stop throughout the journey.

November Afternoon Tea 2: Bread & Tiramisu @ Italiannies

When I was about to leave 1-Utama, the downpour came. Finding it rather annoying because I parked my car in the open area, thus making it impossible for me to get on the car without getting myself and the shopping stuff wet. I had no choice but to keep walking without knowing where I was heading to. I chanced along Italiannies and was caught by the banner in front of the shop. Caffe Vergnano 1882 is available at Italiannies! It's coffee, coffee time again!

This picture reminds me of Italy again.

I had always wanted to get my dining table a nice piece of red or blue checked tablecloth.

Caffe Mocha @ RM6.90

Complimentary Bread, eaten with olive oil and balsamic sauce.

Tiramisu @ RM16.90

The tiramisu is certainly not the best in my list. I have of course had something that tasted much more better than the above. However, by looking at the price and its serving size (unbelievably huge that it can easily feed three), I must say that this is one of the most worth eating tiramisus.

Dim Sum at Jaya Palace Restaurant, PJ

Of so many dim sum restaurants in Petaling Jaya, Jaya Palace is one of those places which offer both classy dining ambiance and quality food. Whenever I go to Petaling Jaya, I will never miss the chance of patronising this restaurant. This time, I was given the honour to escort Uncle Ron and Aunty Lai to the KLIA. We left Ipoh after having a light breakfast and spent about 2 hours travelling on the south-bound highway before arriving at Kenny's place. Both the couple hopped on and we proceeded to Jaya Palace which is merely 20 minutes drive from Kelana Jaya.

The setting of the table
Appetiser 1: Pickled Vegetables (FOC)

Appetiser 2: Braised Peanuts (FOC)

Char Siew Bun @ RN6.50

Porridge with Sliced Pork & Century Egg @ RM8.30

Deep Fried Prawn Salad Dumplings @ RM6.80

Steamed Siew Mai @ RM7.30

Steamed Rice Roll with Barbecued Pork @ RM8.50

Fried Carrot Cake @ RM8.80

Homemade Custard Buns @ RM5.80

Egg Tarts @ RM5,80

This restaurant has a limited choice of dim sum but all the morsels are prepared / cooked upon order so rest assured that everything comes piping hot and fresh including egg tarts which are also baked upon order. Although one will always be eating the same type of dim sum, it is the consistency of the food that actually counts. And that is also the main factor that keeps me coming back to Jaya Palace.

Happy Birthday to ME!

Happy Birthday to me ~
Happy Birthday to me ~
Happy Birthday to Pam ~
Happy Birthday to me!!!

"Teacher, Yuen Yu is not feeling well, she has a bad stomach ache."
I rushed to the classroom and found Yu bending her body forward with her head buried in her arms.
"Are you alright, Yuen Yu?" I repeated the same question for several times but the girl who was 'obviously' in 'pain' refused to lift her head. Neither did she respond to my concern. Suddenly, the other girls popped out from nowhere and held a cake in their hands.
There goes the birthday tunes ......

I was overcome with emotion I couldn't respond appropriately to the pleasant 'surprise' because I knew that I was never their favourite teacher. While they expected to see me shed my tears, I was still too confused to react to the unexpected situation. Rather, it was a photo given by a student which wetted both my eyes. We both looked so cheerful in that picture and the smile of the girl was something I had always wanted to see throughout my years of being her Form teacher. From a cocoon, a butterfly emerges...

When I got home, I 'assembled' my birthday 'cake'. YEAH ~~ I bought them from Petaling Jaya.

Close your eyes, make a wish, and blow out the candle light ~~~

Mum bought me an apple mousse cake.

Dad took us to a restaurant for dinner and we shared the lovely cake. Happy! Happy!

Homemade Apple Lattice Pie & English Scones

Uncle Ron and Aunty Irene are going back to London tomorrow. Here I have made some scones and an apple lattice pie for them to savour before their departure.

Oh Bali!

As I was heading towards Kelana Jaya, I chanced along this restaurant at Mutiara Tropicana. The Waterlily Contemporary Balinese Bistro made me recall the special cuisine I had in Bali. It was almost half past seven and I was a little famished. Annabelle was observant enough to notice my hunger and she suggested we check out the food here to see if they were authentic Balinese food.
