McDonald's Grilled Chicken Burger

Grilled Chicken Burger is a leaner, healthier burger seasoned with herbs and spices to make it more interesting and different. It is low calories, low fat and high in protein. Ah Kuang Curry Noodle @ Station Road, Taiping.

Ask any Taiping lang about this curry noodle stall which shares the same premise as the Ceylonese Association in Taiping, they can easily list out all the goodness of this curry noodle. The one thing special about this curry noodle is the creamy curry which is cooked to the right consistency to coat every strand of noodle and side dishes as you fish them out of the pool of soup. By merely opening your mouth to wolf down the noodle is not recommended here as you miss the most remarkable moment along the pathway of enjoying this heavenly bowl of noodle. By simply slurping the noodle and allow the curry to incorporate with the molecules in the atmosphere, it gives rise to the ultimate satisfaction of your taste buds when the full-bodied flavour of the curry reaches the peak of its taste. So, can you imagine how good this bowl of unpretentious noodle is?

A regular bowl of curry noodle costs RM3.00

Bake your own biscotti

The Italian word "biscotto" means "biscuit". When you break the word into two syllables, they are literally translated as "baking twice". Baking the biscuit twice requires lots of care and patience but it guarantees a crisp texture from its unique shape. The baking method is not too complicated as you think. All you need to do is to shape the dough into a log, bake the entire dough in the oven till the dough hardens but not cooked. Remove the dough from the oven and slice it diagonally. Arrange the biscuit slices neatly on a baking tray and return the biscuit to the oven to continue baking till it is completely cooked. Despite being time consuming and tedious, biscotti remains the most popular snack in some typical Italian cafes. Of course, one can always pay to enjoy some equally good bakery-made biscotti but the satisfaction one would get from making it yourself simply overweighs the store-bought biscotti. To bake or not to bake, that's the question.

The Pride of Tanzania

Starbucks Tanzania, a medium-bodied brew with a crisp, clean flavour and pleasing black currant and citrus notes. Grown in East Africa's fertile Rift Valley, the Tanzania bean has a distinctive flavour of both floral and citrus. The citrusy taste of this coffee gives rise to the fragrant aroma and pleasant after taste. Allow the fluid to coat the entire mouth cavity to unseal the sweetness of currant. This coffee provides a soothing sensation to your palate as you allow ample time for the fluid to flow gracefully down your throat.

My lovely bunch of students!

4A4, the 10th class of the Fourth Form, is commonly branded as 'incurable' (mou tuck gow). I used to have the same preconception towards this kind of students who are academically weak, before I was assigned to the class beginning of the year. "What? 4A4? Why me???"

Nonetheless, they made me realise that becoming the form teacher of the weakest class is truly a blessing to me. They are a unique bunch of pupils whom I would gladly call them "The lovely ones". We can communicate with one another very well and I have developed a special feeling towards them. Our relationships are built on trust and respect.

The conclusion is: They may be poor in their academic but they are generally good at heart. Unlike the excellent students who are disdainfully proud, snobbish, deceptive, manipulative etc., they are far more truthful and sincere. I enjoy teaching them, as they know how to appreciate me and my effort. I love them, and I always treasure all those wonderful moments we have together.

4A4 does not stand for 4 Art 4 but 4 Angels 4!

You guys are simply the best...

Home Delivery Dim Sum

When one of the family members is not keen on going out for breakfast on a lovely Sunday morning, you are left with no choice but to order a take away so that the entire family can sit together for breakfast. (At home, of course!) Of all the food choices available, the most convenient food for a take-away order usually comprises of noodle or rice as all the side dishes can be packed together in one container or plastic bag. As the only daughter in the family, my filial duty is to ensure the two old folks obtain all the essential nourishments from their meals and remain excited for the surprise they would get at the same time.

I am always on the go and enjoy challenging my own limitations by turning the "impossible" into "I'm possible". I've proven myself again by turning the unimaginable into reality.

Baumkūchen バウムクーヘン

Baumkūchen / バウムクーヘン / 年輪蛋糕 is the most popular layered cake in Japan. The making of this cake involves a high level of skill and a few complicated steps.
1. Brush even layers of batter on the spit and then rotate the spit around a heat source.
2. Pour a new layer of batter when the initial layer turns brown.
3. Remove the cake from the spit when all the batter has been used up.
4. Cut the cake vertically into 2-inch rings.

The golden rings which resemble the annual growth rings on a tree give the cake its German name Baumkūchen (literally translated as log cake).

Excellent Service Award

One of my colleagues was nominated for the Excellent Service Award (Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang - APC). The award is conferred to eligible government servants who have shown excellent performance and contributed to the effective teaching and learning of the school. As expected, she is one of the lucky ones and will soon receive her award and RM1,000. I am so happy for her so I celebrated her joy by baking some coffee egg tarts for her.

Are you expecting me?

Thursday, commonly denoted as a non-tuition day, has lately been declared "Pam's Starbucks Day". Everyone is expecting me... Yes, everyone including the well-trained coffee barista, his gracious assistant, and all coffee enthusiasts who recognise their fellow comrades by the contentment in their eyes. If you happen to be one of them, please meet me here. We shall talk, over cups of nice brew, till we see our destiny fulfilled, with precious drops of coffee... See you at Starbucks, my friend.

Independence Day

Being sick for nearly 3 weeks as a result of bacterial infection. Coughing non-stop throughout nights, feeling feverish all the time and losing my voice for weeks made it so difficult for me to carry out my normal teaching duty. Could no longer stand the discomfort, I had to resort to visiting a doctor in the government clinic. Guess what? The lousy doctor ordered a TB (tuberculosis) test and sent me to the lab for the sputum test. What the hxxx??? I ignored the doctor and left the clinic without leaving any samples behind.

Today is my independence day as I have finally recovered from the persistent cough that had been tormenting me for such a long time. It's time to compensate my loss for I have been craving some hot and spicy food for ages. Let's begin with a bowl of hot hot Mee Rebus! Yippee! *grin*

Wong Kok Char Chan Teng: Revisit

Talked about Hong Kong style food, Wong Kok Char Chan Teng is not the most outstanding cafe. With limited choice of restaurants in Ipoh, Wong Kok is the only place that serves typical Hongkee style food. We went to De Garden for lunch and found customers overflow in queues . In spite of being packed to the brim, we somehow managed to get a table for three in less than five minutes.
