Starbucks Dark Fairtrade Certified Italian Roast and American Breakfast

Home cooked American breakfast has always been my first choice. As many people have had the wrong perception of American breakfast being unhealthy, loaded with excess calories and cholesterol, they, particularly the adults, tend to eliminate it from their food lists and stop their family from consuming it as well. Of course, I do not deny the fact that some American breakfasts are sinfully packed with oil and fats. Thanks to the method of preparation adopted by most vendors and chefs, a supposed-to-be balanced meal has been branded as the culprit to cardiovascular diseases.

I, though not being too enthusiastic about American breakfast, would like to bring you to the correct path and  enlighten you on the real goodness of American breakfast. American breakfast, can be both healthy and sumptuous, provided if you cook it the proper way by using the five universal healthy combination - steaming, blanching, poaching, toasting and grilling - which are definitely free from oil.

Been serving good coffee on the island for years, the cafe makes a perfect place for coffee appreciation and small gathering among the coffee  enthusiasts. With more than 20 varieties of coffee to offer, I am glad to have discovered this wonderful breakfast spot during one of my regular pilgrimage to the island.

Bangkok 2012: Suk11 Hostel, a perfect getaway.

Renowned for low prices and friendly Thai services, Suk11 Hostel operates as a hostel set in a row of shophouses. The hostel is renovated to resemble traditional Thai houses with a rich and rustic decor. The zinc roof, dark corridor and decaying wood may not be quite in line with what you'd expect of hostel accommodation but offers a one in a lifetime opportunity to experience the other side of the city.

Suk11 is a home away from home. It provides budget-conscious travellers with premium location (Sukhumvit area), exceptional services (24 hours security) and highly affordable prices (THB500 per room, inclusive of breakfast). Various room types are offered, ranging from single room to a dormitory for 5 persons.

Breakfast Buffet @ Flemington Hotel

My SPM students who scored string of A's in the public examination invited me to Flemington Hotel to celebrate their success. Breakfast in Flemington is served buffet style and it costs only RM12.00 nett per pax. I, of course, need not pay a single cent as the bill was shared out among the 10 students. I did not want to waste their parents' hard-earned money, even though each of them only paid RM1.20 for my food. From section to section, I snatched everything I saw and gobbled down like nobody's business.

Cornflakes, Coco Crunch, and Honey Stars in milk

The Western Style Breakfast:
Butter Bread Pudding, Marmalade Toast, Mushroom Omelette, Chicken Sausage and Mini Spring Roll.

Teochew Porridge

The Malaysian Style Breakfast:

Watermelon, Honey Dew, Papaya and Mango Pudding.

Butter Cake and Pandan Cake.

Waking up early to a lonely breakfast is part of my daily routine. On weekdays, my breakfast normally consists of a cup of home-brewed coffee and a bowl of bran. When it comes to Saturdays, I enjoy doing myself a favour by pampering myself with some lovely toast sets to boost my spirit for the day.
