This Singapore-based cafe serves award-winning east-west cuisine in Bangkok. Mr Lee, the founder, is a man who shows passion in everything about food. The food has a strong influence of Chinese cuisine, added with a twist of contemporary flavours from the South East Asia. For instance, Chinese fried kuey teow is served the Thai style and curry dishes portray a touch of sourish element of Thai food.

Bangkok 2012: McDonald's Egg and Ham Pie

Can't recall when exactly was the first time I ate at McDonald's in Thailand. Well, it does not matter when as long as I know I became hooked on their food since then. The menu in Thailand is more extensive and the menu changes quite often to give rise to more surprises to their diners. Whenever I go to Thailand, my top priority is always on the Samurai pork burger. As you know, pork burger is not available in Malaysia nor Singapore so I strongly advise you not to miss the chance of trying this become it is simply so so so gooood... Their pies are also worth trying because of the variety of filling ranging from savoury to sweet flavours.

As you can see, the pastry is not too oily compared to the the apple pie in Malaysia outlets.

Scrambled eggs, ham and corn filling are encased in the crispy pastry but not as full as what I expected to get.

Tired of walking and shopping at the Pratunam market, we crossed the street to the Platinum Fashion Mall and sat at the ice cream parlour to stretch our feet before our second round of money pouring games.

Can't remember how many meals of Thai food we had throughout our journey but this is one of the most memorable one. Thanks to its authentic taste of Thai cuisine, cosy dining ambiance and pleasant service. Of so many restaurants that we had patronised, the Sai Thong River Restaurant has the best presentation of food. If you belong to the type whose appetite is simply aroused by the presentation of food, this is the place you are looking for.

Thai Papaya Salad with Salted Black Crab / Som Tam Pu (ส้มตำ)

Ginger Fried Chicken / Kai phat khing (ไก่ผัดขิง)
A simple dish of fried slices of chicken with sliced ginger, soy sauce, fish sauce and chillies.

Bangkok 2012: Ayutthaya Kingdom

The ancient city of Ayutthaya was once the capital of Thai for 417 years. Today, it is one of Thailand's major tourist attractions. Founded in 1350 by King U-Thong, the kingdom was ruled by 33 kings of different dynasties until it was sacked by the Burmese in the 18^th century, leaving behind many ancient ruins and art works. Located 72 kilometers north of Bangkok, Ayutthaya boasts numerous magnificent ruins which indicate that Ayutthaya was one of Indochina's most prosperous cities.

Alternative II: Take Highway No. 304 (Chaeng Watthana Road.) or take Highway No. 302 (Ngamwongwan Road.); turn righ to Highway No. 306 (Tiwanon Road.), then take Highway No. 3111 (Pathum Thani - Samkhok - Sena) and turn right at Amphoe Sena to Highway No. 3263

Alternative III: Take Highway No. 306 (Bangkok - Nonthaburi - Pathum Thani Road.) then take Highway No. 347 

By bus

Ordinary buses run between the Bangkoks Northern Bus Terminal (Mochit 2 Bus Terminal) and Ayutthaya's main terminal on Naresuan Rd. every 20 minutes between 5 a.m. and 7 p.m. The fare is 30 bahts and the trip takes around 2hours. Air-conditioned buses operate the same route every 20 minutes from 5.40 a.m. to 7.20 p.m. (every 15 minutes between 7a.m. and 5p.m.) at the rate of 47 bahts, the trip takes 1.5 hours when traffic to north of Bangkok is light, otherwise it will take two hours.
