Born an Ipoh girl, I am quite sensitive to the taste of food. I may not be a good food critic but I am able to tell you what is good and what is not. As a dim sum lover, I respect food and my palate so going to an average restaurant is definitely a no-no. I would normally recommend the dim sum restaurants in Ipoh when out-of-towners want to know more about the food culture in Ipoh. Being rigid enough, I did not believe in food innovations as I always thought that only the traditional type of eateries can give you a real taste on the food. However, I was proven wrong when I was taken to this little dim sum shop which offers both traditional and innovative dim sums.
Shall I rename this place as Dim Sum Cafe?
An east meets west innovation
Mini Egg Tarts (excellent taste)
Har Kau / Prawn Dumplings
Custard Buns (Becareful not to get your lips scalded as the custard will ooze out when you bite into it
Yue Mai / Fish Balls
Pai Kuat / Pork Ribs
Char Siew Pau / Barbecued Pork Buns
Loh Mai Kai / Steamed Glutinous Rice with Chicken
Spring Roll with Prawns and Banana filling (Pisang Goreng?)
