It was approximately ten days before Chinese New Year. We went to Ching Han Guan to shop for some confectionery, as to prepare for the visit of our relatives and friends. We parked our car at Hugh Low Street, walked to the shop to get our biscuit supply and chucked everything into the boot. The street was rather quiet on that day and there were any tour buses along the roadside. Knowing that it would be easy for us to get a table at the restaurants serving Ipoh's famous bean sprouts chicken, we proceeded to Onn Kee for a sumptuous lunch.
