Bangkok 2012: Coconut Sugar Farm @ Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

As we were taking a boat ride from the jetty to the floating market, we passed by the coconut sugar farm. The boatman made a pit stop for us to quench our thirst with the fresh coconut sugar drink and purchase some freshly made coconut sugar. We also got a hands-on experience on stirring the boiling sugar syrup, which looks so amazing to us as we never knew that the process of sugar making is so complicated and tedious.

Wastage is of minimal as the husk is burned using the unused parts of the coconut tree.

    1. Bingo! This variant is less sweet and softer on the texture. Of course, the melting point is also quite low.
