One of the most picturesque French-style patisseries in the heart of the hustle, bustle, rush and roar Kuala Lumpur, Levain froze Mum and I in place the first time we saw it. This patisserie-cum-café is well worth a visit. Located in the middle of rows of uniquely designed bungalows, this architectural gem has retained its original décor: High ceilings with a neo-classical touch. We enjoyed our cuppa made from only the freshest beans of Lavazza and pick our choice of delicious pastries beneath the fragrance of fresh bread and butter, to a backdrop of soothing soft music as we admired the enchanting paintings on the walls. In Levain’s havens of self-indulgence, we discovered hand-made cakes baked in a special stone oven, continental breakfasts, wide-selection of sandwiches, pasta cooked with sauces to die for, the finest coffees and a charming atmosphere that appeal to all coffee and pastry lovers.
Tempting. The idea of those stone oven-baked fresh bread and pastry caught my attention, but some fine viennoiseries and perhaps a deft touch with the classic pastries have got me truly hooked. How much I wish I could work there as… the owner of the patisserie.
