Doughnut (a.k.a donut) is a popular snack with abundance of characteristics. It is oily because it is deep fired. It is sweet because it is served with various glaze, toppings and fillings. Traditionally, it was shaped in rings and glazed with dissolved sugar coating. Today, there are more than 40 flavours of filled doughnut which are made into flattened spheres and injected with sweet fillings. As a serious weight-watcher, I always hope that the doughnut makers can prepare their food using another variation, which is baking the doughnuts in the oven instead of deep frying them in fat.
I don't eat doughnuts regularly due to its calorific value. Each glazed or filled doughnut contains a minimum of 300 kcal! In fact, I patronised this outlet out of curiosity. Just wanted to find out if the dough was as pillowy soft as other outlets'. (lousy excuse!)
