A mother's face with nature's own hand painted,
It's you, the dearest woman of my passion;
A mother's gentle heart, A daughter's warmest touch,
A kiss more affectionate, a touch more sensuous,
Gilding the carnation whereupon thou gaze;
A mother in hue all hues in her lovely kiss,
Which amazes her daughter's soul
And for a little girl were thou first created;

Till my father, as he found thee, fell in love in thee,

By rearing one infant to honour thee more,
